The exact year of the construction of St. Kyriakos Church is unknown, but since it is mentioned in the works of Simeon the Polish between 1610 and 1615, it is understood that it was built in an earlier time period, the church was badly damaged in a fire in 1881 and rebuilt in 1883. The church, which was used as a warehouse Military and for various purposes until 1960, it was taken over by the Armenian community in Diyarbakir, as a result of the restoration work carried out by the worshipers, the church regained its glorious days, and finally the building that the municipality restored in 2011 was opened for worship. The church has a plan of five naves and five towers, and occupies a very special place for Armenians because it is the largest Armenian church in the Middle East.
