Kursunlu Mosque, one of the historical buildings under the protection of UNESCO, is one of the oldest historical monuments in the region of Tyre, the mosque that has undergone restoration work as a result of the fire is also known as the Fatih Pasha Mosque, it was built between 1516 and 1520 by Beylikli Mehmet Pasha, the first ruler appointed Diyarbakir by the Ottoman Empire. This 500-year-old historical building has a special significance because it is the first architectural structure built by the Ottomans in Diyarbakir. The historic building, which was damaged during the Tyre events in 2015, was opened for worship again in 2019 after being renovated for almost 4 years. It is called Kursunlu Mosque because of the bullets that cover its dome, there are 4 small domes around the main dome, the last place of worshipers in the mosque is built with seven domes.
