Iznik Castle, destroyed by an earthquake in 123. The ancient city is surrounded by walls, 5 km long and 13 m long. These walls are arguably the best defensive walls seen in Anatolia. As a result of war and earthquakes, it has been frequently repaired. It has four gates called Istanbul, Yenisehir, Usmaneli and the lake. Among these gates, only the lake gate was in ruins.
