The church, named after Aya Yanni, one of the three priests who gave Trilye its name, dates back to the 1970s. Only the ruins of Aya Yani Church, which resembles a castle from a distance, remain. The monastery was partially burnt down in 1880, then it was restored and lasted until 1922. The Aya Yani Church, which was abandoned to its fate after the Greeks left the area with the exchange, has not been used since that day, and has been eroded over time and reduced to rubble.
