The Mudanya Derekoy Church, known as the Greek Orthodox Church, is a monumental building that the Orthodox world attaches great importance to. The church, which was built in 1857, was used by the Turks who settled in the village between 1922-1972 as a mosque as a result of the Greeks leaving the city due to the migration of population exchanges. They are well-crafted with both stucco and woodwork, and the stucco medallions on the windowsill attract attention. Some of the inscriptions have been removed and destroyed by Greek tourists visiting the area, by painting green, gold, red and gilded colors.
