This place was used in the past as the center of the Kanish Kingdom in 2000 BC. Due to its easy connection with the surrounding settlements, it became one of the most important points in the region in terms of economy and politics. And it is learned from the sources that the name of the region in the early days was Kanesh or Nasha. These documents indicate that Kanesh is one of the oldest civilizations in Anatolia. During excavations carried out in the area since 1948, many artifacts have been discovered that shed light on the regions past. The tablets, which were inscribed on UNESCOs Memory of the World list in 2015, are written in Assyrian cuneiform and are among the worlds most important written sources in Kanesh.
