This pristine natural beauty was declared a First Class Natural Site in 1993 and has been taken under protection. The first settlement around this lake, which draws attention with its history as well as its natural beauty, was BC. It happened in the year 2000. It was later used as a settlement by the Hittites and the Ottomans respectively. There are tourist opportunities such as bird watching, nature photography, nature trekking, and mud bath facilities in social facilities built in the mud area west of the lake.
