Kastamonu Archaeological Museum, contains many works highlighting the past around stonework. Built in 1915 as a building for the Union and Progress Committee, converted into a museum in 1952, Ataturks possessions and photos taken during his visits to Kastamonu are displayed. The museum building was restored in 1997, and as of 2002 various arrangements have been made such as display lighting, heating system, and landscaping.
