It was an area of active volcanoes. The lava and ash that erupted these volcanoes dried up over time, forming a layer of tuff on the dry ground. This layer consists of rocks containing volcanic ash, mud, sandstone and basalt, and has been altered by the influence of winds and floods. Due to increased flood water, scarce vegetation and weak tuff, it continued to erode the hard rocks. The rocks that could not resist the flood waters were cracked and erupted, forming deep wavy valleys at the bottom. The rocks, which protect themselves from erosion by flood waters, create fairy-tipped chimneys with a hat and conical bodies.
