The ancient city of Cumana, during the Roman and Byzantine periods, was one of the important settlements, today it functions as a park. As a result of excavations carried out in the 1940s, remains were found from the Roman period and 1,300 years ago, from the Hellenistic period. There was a palace and a temple in Cumana in the past. It was a very important production center during the Seljuk and Ottoman times, thanks to the fertile lands of the region, agricultural production and commercial activities were carried out with great success.
