Tokat, named by the Mongols as Subaru, Dar Nusrat by the Seljuks, Kah Kon by the Iranians and Kumana by the Byzantines, Tokat is located in the Black Sea region. The region, which has a climate between the Black Sea climate and the steppe climate, receives an average of 431 mm of precipitation annually. July and August are the hottest months.
