The palace of Mahmud Aref Pasha, it was built in 1904 by the ruler of Maraş Mahmud Aref Pasha. The palace, which was used as the governors office in the early years of the republic, was designed as a house of culture and an ethnography museum, whose restoration work was completed in 2012, and is one of the late Ottoman apartment buildings, according to the type of interior sofa of the Turkish house plan. The ground floor of the two-storey building is made of stone, and the second floor was built in the al-Baghdadi technique with a large window to the south and west. A kitchen and a Turkish bath were added to the ground floor consisting of four rooms that were used as a barn, a cellar, a storeroom and a kitchen. The first floor is the main living area, and the oval boat ceilings in the rooms are among the most beautiful examples of residential architecture. The patio under the trees catches the eye with the fountain pool in the shape of a circle, the floor of which is entirely stone.
