The northern part of the Kirkoz Bridge was built by the Byzantine Emperor Manuel Komen, and it dates back to 1150. The bridge, which is about 800 years old, is still in all its beauty. Consisting of two parts, the north and south, the southern part was built by Suleiman the Magnificent. During the additions to the bridge, which extended up to 64 eyes and reached a length of 200 meters, a marble staircase was built to be used for prayer and descending into the river. Only 57 eyes have survived the bridge to this day, and it is one of the oldest and most historic bridges in Afyon Karaghisar.
