It was built in the 12th and 13th centuries in order to protect the borders of Byzantium. It is a defensive fortress with the characteristics of outposts and watchtowers that see each other along the Sakarya River. It was built on a small hill. This castle, whose surroundings turned into a swamp, enabled it to turn into agricultural areas thanks to the canals that were built. The building that could stand today among the castles in Sakarya; It is ellipse and 8-10 m in walls. It has 6 marks. The castle’s main entrance door, which has five circular arches to enter the castle, is to the south. There are different trees and plants inside, and it is understood that it is a structure belonging to the Byzantine era, showing similarities to other existing castles in terms of architecture.
