Oil Mosque, named after the oil market that was erected in front of its door in earlier periods, was used as a church before, but later turned into a mosque. The inscription on the madrasa reads that the building was converted into a mosque in 1501 by order of Khalil Bey, son of Ramadan, and that the madrasa was built by Beri Pasha exactly 57 years later, and the minaret was erected 24 years later, in 1525, after it had been converted to Mosque .
