Kirklareli, as a city, played an important role in the conquest of Istanbul. Although Istanbul was besieged many times, the walls could not be breached and many different strategies were tried. It was a safe mining village near Istanbul at that time, one of the most advanced foundries were established in the 15th century. Since the cannons produced here were used during the conquest of Istanbul, it is called the Fatih Foundry. This foundry, which played a very important role in the conquest of Istanbul, is a must because it is among the very important historical places in Kırklareli. Its beauty has not been fully revealed, as restoration and excavation works in the area are still ongoing.
