The castle is characterized by small and medieval Roman architecture features in its architecture, it has a very ancient past and many civilizations have passed, it is understood that the castle and its surroundings have been settled since the intermittent Stone Age. It was known that Yohannes, one of the messengers of the Prophet Jesus, peace be upon him in the Roman era, had settled in the castle and hidden a copy of the Bible in one of the surrounding caves. For this reason, the castle has a special significance for Christians. Inside the castle are the remains of the Church of the poet Saint Nersaif and the Barsava Monastery, as well as the remains of a well and cisterns.
