The castle was built during the Mora revolt as a forward position against potential attacks from the islands. The walls of the castle, built by the Ottomans in 1834, are 2.5 meters high and surround the entire island. There are two towers, one cylindrical and the other hexagonal, on the side of the castle facing the city. Between these two towers is the castles circular arched gate. There was an inscription on the door. However, this inscription was placed next to the hexagon, in contrast to where it should be now. The large square tower in the center of Kusadasi Castle was used as a warehouse. When you go to the second floor of the tower, which is entered through a pointed arched door in the south direction of the castle, you will see the cannon and rifle holes that opened at that time.
