The largest lake in the Aegean region. It is known as a freshwater lake. There are also olive trees due to the geographical features of the lake. The area located in the northern part of the lake is mountainous and vegetation can be observed in this area intensively. The southern part of the lake is mostly covered with tourist residential areas. The lake was formed as a result of the transport of silt, and is one of the sources of fresh water. The average length of the lake is 16 kilometers. Its average width is 6 kilometers. Its deepest part is 21 meters, its surface is 10 meters high, and its shoreline is 50 kilometers long. Due to the shallowness of the lake, it hosts many species of birds, in the fall and spring months due to their need for shelter and reproduction.
