The famous poet Namik Kemal was born in Tekirdag in 1840, it was restored by the municipality of Tekirdag and the Namek Kemal Association and turned into a museum. It was opened in 1993 to preserve the memory of Namik Kemal, a 19th century Ottoman house. Works, documents and paintings of the poet are displayed. There are also ethnographic works that reflect Tekirdags cuisine.
