The city of Siirt, which has a continental climate, the summer is hot and dry. Although Siirt is located at the intersection of the lands of Anatolia and Mesopotamia, it could not become a cultural center due to its rugged geographical structure and transportation difficulties. In the historical process, closed communities lived in the mountainous region and Iranian beliefs were adopted, the Sassanids who met Christianity in the war between Rome and the Sassanids and became Zoroastrians, did not treat Christians tolerantly, however after the Battle of Manzikert, the city became Turkish with the Artuqids and acquired its current Turkish-Islamic culture.
