Trabzon Museum was built as a palace at the beginning of the twentieth century by Banker Kostaki Theophilactus. When it went bankrupt, this mansion was confiscated along with its other assets and sold to Nimlioglus family. The building was nationalized in the second quarter of the twentieth century. In the basement of the palace, artifacts, the first floor is reserved for ethnographic works, and the middle floor is reserved for the administrative department.
