The Gulbahar Hatun Mosque, which is believed to have been built in 1514, belongs to the Zafili group of mosques, which form a separate outline in Ottoman architecture. It is a mosque built in memory of Gulbahar Khatun, the mother of Yavuz Sultan Selim, one of the most important sultans of the Ottoman Empire. The mosque and mausoleum only survived the complex that contained a building, a school, a bathhouse, a mosque, a tomb and a school during its construction period.
