Amasya Castle, a magnificent building overlooking the city center of Amasya, is one of the most important historical and architectural symbols of the city. It is not known exactly when and by whom the castle was built, its height is 300 meters. After the Turks occupied the city in 1075, the fortress, which underwent many additions and maintenance, was built of cut stone and rubble. In the castle there are many tombs and baths from the Ottoman era.
