The Aywagic Lake Dam was built between 1975-1982 for the purpose of irrigation and electricity generation. The volume of the dam body is 2,151,000 cubic meters, and its height from the course of the river is 51.00 meters, the volume of the lake at the natural water level is 182.00 square meters, and the lake area at the natural water level is 9.70 square kilometers. The dam serves an irrigation area of 83,312 hectares, and the 46 MW electrostatic power plant produces 273 GWh of electricity annually.
