The clock tower, is one of the places that smells of history, and one of the busiest and most visited places in Samsun, thanks to fishermen, vegetable sellers, butchers, spice sellers, wholesalers and retailers, and many other merchants. Going back to the reign of Abdel Hamid II, the tenth year of Abdel Hamids ascension to the throne, the French-Belgian-born engineer completed this clock tower in 1887 using the Hall of Fame. This structure was damaged after a while and was rebuilt in 1977.
