The castle was built on an area of 480 m² southwest of the city center. It consists of inner and lower castles. It is believed that the inner castle was built during the reign of Justinian I (527-565) and that the lower castle was built in the 13th century. The area around the castle is run as a tea garden with landscaping. The castle is built on a natural hill 150 meters high. It has five towers with a semicircular plan. The Lower Castle While it was surrounded by walls extending from the inner castle towards the northeast and northwest directions and up to the sea, part of the western walls and some of the towers remain today.
