The castle, built on a pointed rock, is an ancient settlement and is a first-rate archaeological and natural site. As a result of excavations conducted in 2010, 2,300-year-old temples and castle walls have been found in the area. Excavations continued until 2016 with the contribution of the Ordu Metropolitan Municipality. During excavations conducted during these dates, a marble statue was found on the gate of the castle. Korol Castle attracts attention with its archaeological significance and a great view of Ordu.
