It was built by the Grand Vizier Koprulu Muhammad Pasha. It is understood from the handwritten Qur’an sent by the Grand Vizier Koprulu Muhammad Pasha that the mosque was opened for worship in the year 1661. The mosque is exactly the seventeenth. It clearly reveals the contours of the century. There is a fountain in the courtyard, a sundial, a library, and a building that was jointly created as a timekeeper. The mosque reopened for worship in 2019 after nearly 2.5 years of restoration work.
