Bayburt Great Mosque, one of the most special historical buildings left by the Seljuks to the city, and one of the oldest buildings in the Bayburt mosques, was built by the second Anatolian Seljuks between 1282-1298 according to historical data, it was built by Giyas al-Din Mesut. Its internal structure was built with wood and arches, but it lost its old original appearance as it underwent many restorations. One of the most visited and worshiped mosques in the city, it was restored in 1967. The image we see today reflects the final version of 1967.
