The church is built in a rectangular shape that measures 20.20 x 13.20. According to the inscription on the monastery, the building, which was built at the request of the Bagrat king Sumbath in the 10th century, was converted into a mosque in the seventeenth century and used as a mosque for many years after the Islamic countries. It had an undoubtedly impressive appearance when built, it was specially built by Gabriel, one of the leading architects of the period. The building, also known as Doliskana Monastery, attracts attention thanks to its stone workmanship.
