The castle dates back to the Middle Ages, it was used as a border post between Byzantium and Iran, it came under the control of the Seljuks with the victory of Manazkir 1071, due to its location in a high place, it was difficult to beat it throughout history, cut stone was used in the construction of the castle and it consists of two parts: Indoor and outdoor castle.
