Western Front Headquarters Museum

The Western Front Headquarters Museum in Aksehir, is the headquarters building that had an important place in the National War of Independence, the building was built in 1904-1905 by the mayor of the period in the name of the city council. It was designated as the headquarters of the Western Front command, which was transferred to Aksehir on November 18, 1921, and the headquarters served in this building until August 24, 1922, the Town Hall was moved, where preparations and plans were made for the Great Offensive and the decision was made to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in 1964 to be Converted into a museum, it was restored, arranged and opened to visitors on July 5, 1966 under the name of Ethnography Museum as a document of the days of hope and struggle, after reform and arrangement in 1981, it was renamed the Museum of the Western Headquarters of the Western Front, the arrangements for restoration, display and arrangement were made in 1988-1995 and 2001, It was reopened on July 5, 2001 in its current form. The lower floor of the building is used as an administrative section, there is a sofa in the galleries upstairs, and galleries in eight rooms open to it, in the room on the left at the exit of the stairs there are firearms and non-firearms believed to have been used in the War of Independence, a plaque describing the biography of a deputy Akşehir Hassi Bekir Somar and a gun gifted to him.
