It is considered the first monument to be recognized as a world heritage site in Turkey by UNESCO, and one of the first works to be built in Anatolia. At the end of the twelfth century, it was built in an octagonal shape, built in the fourteenth century, it was restored by the Ministry of National Education in 1956.
