The museum was opened in 1982, and was opened for the first time on April 30, 1965 under the name Harpet Museum. It contains traces of the historical, geographical and cultural fabric of the city. It includes three sections, namely, the artifacts and coinage hall, the carpet and rug exhibition, and the ethnography section. There are more than 15 thousand Artifacts and more than 5 thousand ethnographic artifacts and more than 10 thousand coins are in the museum, almost 2000 of these works are displayed in the exhibition halls.
