Mardin Museum, built in 1895 to serve as a patriarchate, was renovated by the Ministry of Culture in 1988 and began to be used as a museum in 1995. Each floor contains artifacts belonging to different periods of history since 2000, of these, while there are Archaeological pieces from the Assyrian, Roman, Byzantine, Zen and Ayyubid periods, ethnographic pieces, mosaics, tombstones, and capitals are among the exhibits. There is a rich array of cultures of Southeast Anatolia, Girnevaz Huyuk and Northern Mesopotamia from the Old Bronze Age, Seljuk, Urar, Assyrian, Greek, Hellenistic, Byzantine, Persian, Roman, Artaqi and Ottoman periods.
