The Fethiye Museum consists of two sections, one for archeology and the other for ethnography. The museum was first opened in 1962 by Recep Gilan, who was the ruler of Mugla at that time. The museum, which had been operating as a warehouse for a while, began welcoming visitors to its present location in 1987. While most of the ceramics are displayed in the Antiquities section, in the Ethnography section, there are many hand-woven specimens, hand embroidery and caftans unique to the region. In the open section, artworks with large stone blocks, sarcophagus tombs and the Ezra monument are displayed in the museum.
