Derb Sak Castle, means the gate, the road in Arabic. The fortress was used as an outpost against Seljuk attacks during the Crusaders and Ottomans. The castle was also known as the Highlands or the Shepherds Castle during the Byzantine period. It had a very important military position in the past.
