Habib Al-Najjar Mosque, the first mosque built in Anatolia, and it is one of the important buildings in the city that fascinates those who see it with its historical richness and architectural structure. The mosque was built after the Arabs captured Antakya in 638. The mosque’s fountain was built in the nineteenth century. The mosque, which is visited by many Christians, really impresses people because of the tombs of Yunus, Yahya and Shimon Safa, who were messengers of Jesus. The mosque is believed to have been built on the basis of an ancient temple, built in a structure with one minaret.
