Silichi Clare Ruins, the ruins founded by Emperor Augustus to Romanize Anatolia, gained prominence in the 6th century AD. The importance of the area continued until the tenth century AD. The remains of the first settlement in the area date back to the Bronze Age. In archaeological excavations, it is considered that settlement in the area was made in the Bronze Age and lasted until the Roman and Byzantine periods. The presence of 3 Lydian mounds in the north of the city indicates that the Lydians lived in the area in the ancient period. In the ancient area, there are remains of two churches, one smaller than the other. It turns out that the stones on which the churches were built were taken from the baths of the Romans.
