Izmir Bird Sanctuary is located on an area of 8 thousand hectares. More than 50 thousand birds visit this area, and it is among the bird migration routes. In addition, Bird Paradise, which has 205 species of birds and 314 species of plants, has watchtowers, binoculars, and bike paths. The reserve includes reeds, small islands, peninsulas and salt ponds on an area of approximately 40,000 hectares. You can encounter many types of birds such as crested pelicans, silver gulls, little terns, pink-winged flamingos, gray and black stork, mallards, little owls, kingfisher, herons and redfish.
