Homer Valley was inaugurated in 2008. It is rumored that Homer, who is believed to have lived in Izmir in the 8th century BC, was born here and is believed to have lived in a cave in this valley. The valley extends over an area of five hundred thousand square meters. There are 103 different species of birds as well as 18 lakes, a small amphitheater, and areas for picnics, cycling, jogging, and hiking trails. It stretches over a 7 km long valley with water dams, wooden seating groups and ponds.
