The ancient city of Akharaka, is known as one of the thermal areas used for medicinal purposes in ancient times. The yellow water, which is known as sulfur water, has made the region one of the important health centers. The area, which witnessed the Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman periods, was also used as a religious center.
