It was built by order of Murad. The mosque takes its name from its 67.62-meter-high minaret with three balconies. The stonework on its minaret is very distinctive. The large dome with a diameter of 24 meters, mounted on 6 columns, is an example of a plan for a mosque that was not built before that time. The mosque is considered a turning point as many of the firsts were tried in mosque architecture in the Ottoman Empire. We have a chance to see many of the early ones in this mosque, such as the first harem stone, the entrance under the main dome at the entrance to the mosque, the fruit patterns on the dome, the courtyard of the first portico, and the single-domed architecture.
