Hossein Rahmi Gurpinar is one of the most important writers, novelists and journalists of the republic era. Born in Istanbul in 1864, and died in 1944 in his mansion in Heybeliada, this historic home, where Hüseyin Rahmi lived in his mansion on a hill overlooking the Marmara Sea, was converted into a museum years after his death. The museum was opened to visitors in 2000. Items including Hossein Rahmi Gurpinars handicrafts, books, furniture from that period, photographs and other objects are on display, as well as interesting souvenirs of the author.
